Congrats to Kim and Phil! What a beautiful couple, inside and out, and so in love. Their wedding was intimate, fresh and romantic. Each guest was welcomed with an “Aloha” bag filled with local goodies for guests to enjoy. Their wedding had a lot of sweet personalizations including sea fans from Grenada (where Kim and Phil used to live), letters to loved ones embroidered on handkerchiefs and the cutest cake knife and server from Phil’s grandmother. No wonder this wedding was featured in Style Me Pretty Destination. Edgy, elegant and effortlessly pretty is what BrideStory Blog had to say about this sweet Olowalu Plantation House wedding. Lindsay, Mat and their guests traveled from Canada to escape the cold and celebrate their nuptials on the warm island of Maui. They spared no expense with the personalized details ranging from favorite cigars, a scotch bar, a polaroid photo guest book and even a personalized globe (just to name a few). It was a backyard style celebration! Congrats Lindsay + Mat! You can view this wedding at :: http://www.bridestory.com/blog/purple-beach-wedding-in-olowalu-maui
We collaborated with Mandy Grace Designs to create a dramatic, organic and lush indigo styled shoot in Upcountry Maui at Ka Hale Olinda. The inspiration came from the color indigo and from there, everything just fell into place. We wanted something natural and a little opulent. Designer, Lindee Daniel, instantly came to mind with the amazing construction of her organic, cruelty free silk wedding gowns. Her indigo blue silk gown was a perfect match for this styled shoot. The color indigo was named after the indigo dye derived from a plant so it seemed appropriate to incorporate hand dyed silk ribbon and hand dyed muslin in various shades of blue from Adorn. A rustic farm table, organic artichokes, figs and crystal stemware were the perfect balance of organic and dramatic. Other organic elements that helped tie it all together were the delicious puff pastry style cakes created by Maui Sweet Cakes and the organic wood invitation styled by Miss B Calligraphy. When local drummer, Ian Hollingsworth’s, wife contacted me to design and coordinate her rock star husband’s 40th birthday bash, I new instantly that it was going to be the party of the decade! It seemed appropriate to have a flash back to 1974 party (the year Ian was born). This wasn’t any old 70’s party. No disco lights or John Travolta. This was the rock star (KISS, AC/DC), Playboy, retro hippie 70s party complete with a 9 piece band, gogo dancers, retro candy bar (yes, even the candy cigarettes from your childhood), photo booth, yummy grinds and luscious libations! Happy Birthday Ian!
Water, nature, raw, organic….. This style shoot was all about mother nature and the sea! We even ended up in the sea at the end! View the entire gallery on Style Me Pretty: http://www.stylemepretty.com/destination-weddings/2014/06/20/maui-wedding-inspiration/

Organic, romantic, tropical, clean….. Kathy and Lance’s wedding was breathtaking! They were married at Hale Ko Olani where sweeping views of the neighboring islands and the Pacific Ocean created a gorgeous backdrop for guests. Chef Lee McBride and her team from Sugar Beach Events tantalized guest’s taste buds with their delicious short ribs and local fish while Joey and her team from Manutea Nui E entertained guests with hula and fire dancing late into the evening. Such a fun couple (and family) to work with!! Congrats Kathy and Lance!

When your mom is an art major, you know your party is going to be pretty creative and over the top! Goldie’s mom, Michelle, was totally hands on with this event! She made all of the cute party favors (DIY projects found on Pinterest): adopt a monster dolls and monster play-doh (just to name a couple of things) and some of the decor (homemade monster garland and pom pom puffs). Heidi from Maui Sweet Cakes made the cute monster cake and cupcakes and Mandy Grace designed the adorable monster gerber daisy centerpieces. Check our website out for this feature soon to come! Happy 1st Birthday Goldie!
